Trulioo was recently named the winner in the Compliance Innovation category at the 2018 RemTECH Awards. The award recognizes the value and impact of Trulioo’s new MobileID solution, launched earlier this year as part of its GlobalGateway identity verification platform. The Remittances Technology Innovation (RemTECH) Awards were presented on May 8 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of the 2018 Global Forum on Remittances, Investment and Development (GFRID2018). GFRID2018 is an international event designed to raise awareness, facilitate dialogue and promote collaboration on the contribution and development of migrant remittances services. Now in its second year, the RemTECH Awards applaud and recognize successes and innovations in the field of global remittances. With applicants from all over the world, entries are scored based on the following criteria: originality, creativity and intent; functionality and technical qualities; ease-of-use and adoption; game-changing ability; implementation and performance; sustainability and potential for growth. “We are thrilled to accept the RemTECH award for Compliance Innovation,” said Stephen Ufford, CEO of Trulioo. “MobileID not only provides access to previously hard-to-reach customers, but it also helps international remittance services strike the right balance between maximizing security and minimizing friction.” This is not Trulioo’s first RemTECH win. Last year, Trulioo won the RemTECH award in the Potential for Growth (Problem Solver) category. 2018 RemTECH Awards The RemTECH Awards celebrate the businesses, organizations, collectives and individuals transforming remittances. Developed by IMTC Conferences, in partnership with Mohr World Consulting, the awards showcase the most innovative and outstanding technological ideas designed to improve remittance services worldwide. This year, the independent judging panel consisted of vetted fintech and payment industry experts who evaluated each entry. The panel was co-chaired by U.S. blockchain payments expert Olivia Chow and bitcoin remittance entrepreneur Luis Buenaventura. Together, the panel selected the most innovative and outstanding ideas, models and projects designed to improve remittance services worldwide. The judges noted that Trulioo’s entry was the most compelling due to the “effectiveness, simplicity and the wide-ranging potential of the MobileID solution.” “By leveraging existing industry data to provide better value to customers, Trulioo’s MobileID was the only entry to win both an award and a mention from RemTECH judges truly validating the need for and ingenuity of their solution,” said Chow.
